What Happens When the Internet Fills with A.I?
Future Rise Newsletter #22 | July 8-2025
Shit's getting real! As A.I-generated content floods the internet, we're
heading into uncharted territory. But not all of it is doom and digital
dust.
Let's start with the good news: this might just be a golden era for
human creators. In a sea of generic, dopamine-chasing A.I slop, real
voices stand out. Audiences crave authenticity. They want to feel
the fingerprint of a real mind and person behind what they're
consuming.
But the flip side? Human creators may struggle to compete against
content that's been engineered to addict. And when everything starts
to look and sound the same, standing out becomes a steep uphill
climb.
Then there's the darker possibility: the internet becomes unusable.
Simulations blur into reality, and the truth becomes unknowable. But
irronically, that might kill the power of fake news altogether. If we stop
trusting everything online, the weapon loses its edge.
Here's where it gets culturally interesting. We start placing premium
value on what we can trust, in-person experiences, physical media, real
moments. Welcome to the Analogue Renaissance.
And finally, as digital fatigue grows, people will retreat into nostalgia.
Old YouTube. DVDs. Tangible, pre-A.I comfort zones. Not because
they're better, but because they feel real.
So where do you sit? Hopeful or hesitant? Either way, this shift is
happening. And the more we understand it, the more we can create a
future that feels human, connected, and worth participating in.
