The Language of Power / The Power of Language
Future Rise Newsletter #19
Language is not just how we communicate. It's how we code reality.
And in English, success, especially male success, is too often framed
through the lens of violence:
• You're killing it.
• You made a killing.
• Smash the competition.
• Blow them up.
• Go in guns blazing.
It's subtle, but powerful! The words we use to describe ambition,
achievement, and victory are soaked in imagery of destruction. And
when boys are raised hearing that their value lies in domination or
annihilation, what kind of internal architecture does that build?
If the only way to measure worth is through conquest, then softness
becomes weakness. Presence becomes passivity. Empathy becomes
optional. And the result is a masculinity that fractures. Not because
men are broken, but because the language around them never gave
space for anything else.
This isn't about political correctness. It's about energetic consequence.
Words shape our identity and reality. If we want a future that
balances power with presence, achievement with awareness, we need
new metaphors.
• We need to talk about building, not just beating.
• About leading, not just winning.
• About rising, not just dominating.
The future is not about silencing strength. It's about refining it.
And it starts with the words we choose.
Language is the software of consciousness. If we want to upgrade
our world, we need to start by upgrading our vocabulary.
