The Courage We Need for the Future
Future Rise Newsletter #11 | April 22 (2025)
A few months ago I had a conversation with my podcast co-host, Erik
Kruger, on The Expansive that completely reshaped how I think about
courage.
It's not the type of courage we usually celebrate: ice baths, extreme
fitness, and pushing through other physical limits. These have their
place, but they're only one part of a much bigger picture.
The Future Demands a More Nuanced
Kind of Bravery
01 | Intellectual Courage
Get your creative juices flowing. Write engaging and informative
content that will help your readers understand your message.
02 | Emotional Courage
Choosing to sit with discomfort and processing it, instead of bypassing
it.
03 | Moral Courage
Doing what's right, even when no one's watching.
04 | Spiritual Courage
Living in alignment with your purpose, even when the path isn't clear.
05 | Physical Courage
This is still important, but it's just one piece of the puzzle.
If we're serious about building lives, and futures
grounded in clarity, curiosity, and resilience we need to
upgrade our definition of courage.

Actionable Insight
So, here's the question I sit with everyday:
• Am I being courageous enough in the ways that matter most?
It's something to think about as we all navigate boldly into the future.
