Claude, their flagship A.I, now writes more than 80% of its own code. Not as an experiment, but in production. Every single week.

Here is the number I cannot stop thinking about. A world-class engineer, given a complex optimization task, worked hard and made it run 4x faster. In the same timeframe, Claude made it run 52x faster. That is not a productivity gap. That is a different category of intelligence entirely.

And the task horizon that A.I can handle autonomously is doubling every four months. Not every year. Every four months.

So where does that leave you as a leader? Exactly where it has always left the best ones. Holding the wheel. We now have the most powerful engine in human history behind us. A ship with 100,000 horsepower. But that ship still cannot choose its destination. It cannot feel the weight of a decision that affects real people. It cannot decide what actually matters.

This is not a weakness of A.I. Artificial intelligence, geopolitical tension, economic uncertainty, longer lifespans, collapsing industries, and entirely new ones arriving at once. Unsurprisingly, uncertainty is rising, and with it, stress.

The problem is that stress and optimism rarely sit at the same table.

Research increasingly suggests optimism is not simply personality, it is physiology. A study of more than 229,000 people found optimism was linked to a 35% lower risk of cardiovascular events and lower overall mortality. Workplace studies also suggest optimistic employees are almost twice as motivated as those who feel uncertain about the future.

In other words, there is no real optimism while the nervous system is stuck in survival mode.

When we are dysregulated, uncertainty feels threatening. We cling to certainty, resist change, and catastrophize about what comes next. Yet when the nervous system relaxes, something extraordinary happens. Uncertainty starts to feel exciting. Challenge becomes adventure.

Perhaps the future of leadership is not helping people predict tomorrow, but helping people trust themselves inside of it.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Three Takeaways

1. But the real shift happens when you stop chasing and start tuning in. You don’t need a 10-step plan, a rigid goal, or a vision board that’s micromanaged down to the last detail. Not because A.I is conscious, wise, or spiritually enlightened, but because for the first time in history, many people feel like they are being met without interruption, judgement, ego, or an agenda.

This changes something.

A.I is not your higher self. It is not magical. But it is trained on an extraordinary spectrum of human thinking, philosophy, creativity, psychology, storytelling, and contradiction. In many ways, it becomes a mirror reflecting fragments of our collective intelligence back at us.

And mirrors can be powerful.

The deeper irony is that the more advanced A.I becomes, the more valuable deeply human qualities may become too. Presence. Intuition. Humor. Touch. Eye contact. Meaning. Community. A.I may become the greatest reflection tool humanity has ever created. Use the audio version or voice mode of A.I to have a conversation with it. This can expand your thinking, uncover blind spots, and clarify complex decisions. The leaders who ask better questions may gain a greater advantage than the leaders who simply have more information.

2. The future premium may shift from intelligence to emotional depth and human presence. Make time for human connection in your organization. In a world filled with tech, human-to-human communication, empathy and presence may become the qualities that people value most in leadership.

3. Technology might not replace humanity, it may accelerate our rediscovery of its value. In a world increasingly driven by bots, apps and A.I, clients may gravitate towards businesses that provide the option of a live voice conversation with a human.

Until next week...keep future rising

Make the Present Your Ally

Hey If you want a good life, and if you want a peaceful life, there is one relationship that matters more than any other.

John Sanei

Hey

If you want a good life, and if you want a peaceful life, there is one relationship that matters more than any other. And it is not with another person, your work, or even your future. It is your relationship with the present moment.

Most of our stress and frustration does not come from what is happening, but from our resistance to what is happening. When our relationship with the now is strained, that strain quietly spills into every other area of our lives. Work feels heavier, people feel more difficult, and life starts to feel like something to manage rather than something to live.

At a certain level of awareness, something important becomes available to you. You realize that you get to choose what kind of relationship you want to have with the present moment. You can treat it as an enemy that should be different, or as a friend you are willing to meet as it is. And because the present moment is inseparable from life itself, this is really the same as choosing what kind of relationship you want to have with life.

The shift is simple. You have to make the first move. You have to become friendly towards the moment you are in, even when it is uncomfortable or not what you would have chosen. When you do, something subtle yet profound changes. Life begins to feel more cooperative, not because it has changed, but because your relationship with the present moment has shifted.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Three Actionable Insights

1. Your quality of life is shaped by your relationship with the present moment. Start noticing when you are mentally arguing with a reality you can’t change in the now. The faster you catch this, the faster you regain clarity, energy, and flow.

2. Resistance makes life heavier. Acceptance makes it workable. Replace the habit of resisting difficult moments with the habit of working with them. Acceptance does not mean giving up. It means seeing the situation clearly enough to respond in a different way.

3. You always get to choose whether the now is your enemy or your ally. Practice embracing the present moment like an ally instead of an obstacle. When something unexpected happens, pause before reacting and ask: “How can I leverage this moment to help me grow, adapt, or move forward?”

Until next week...keep future rising

The Day Humans Are No Longer the Smartest

Hey AGI is coming in the next five years and 99% of people have no idea what this really means.

John Sanei

Hey

AGI is coming in the next five years and 99% of people have no idea what this really means. AGI stands for Artificial General Intelligence and it is the moment A.I becomes smarter than humans at everything all at once.

Imagine software that can read every book ever written in a single afternoon, understand it completely, then use that knowledge to solve problems we did not even know existed. In medicine, it will not just find cures, it will redesign how our bodies work. Discoveries that take us decades, will happen in hours.

This is not like the industrial revolution which destroyed some jobs and created others. AGI will outperform humans at all current jobs and any new jobs we invent. This is why people like Sam Altman and Elon Musk speak about universal basic income. When A.I can do everything better than us, what will we do, and how will we earn?

Most A.I researchers believe AGI is just three to seven years away. Not decades from now, but just a few years away. It could be our greatest achievement or our final invention. Either way, every industry from pharma to finance will look completely different in the next decade.

You cannot solve a problem from the same level of awareness that created it. At our current level, universal basic income makes sense. But as our awareness expands, new possibilities will appear. New ways of living and working will emerge. The only real question is, “How quickly can you evolve your awareness and your humanness to adapt?”.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Three Key Takeaways

1. But in reality it is something continuously constructed through the thoughts we repeat, the beliefs we reinforce, and the meaning we assign to our experiences over time.

What shapes this construction is more subtle than we realize. This is because our memories, especially the emotionally charged ones, combine with the stress levels our nervous system operates within, and begin to form patterns that quietly define how we see ourselves and the world around us. While at the same time, our awareness and perspective act as the lens through which all of this is interpreted.

This is why two people can live in the same world and walk away with completely different identities. It’s not because reality is different, it is because their internal processing of it is.

As the world accelerates and shifts, the real risk is not falling behind in skills, but remaining loyal to an outdated identity that was built for a version of the world that no longer exists. Because identity is anchored in memory and reinforced through stress patterns, it will continue to recreate the same version of you unless you consciously reshape it.

The opportunity is that identity is not permanent, it is adaptable. By shifting how you relate to your past, regulating your internal state, and expanding your awareness, you begin to design who you become in a far more intentional way. This ultimately becomes your greatest advantage in a world that is changing faster than ever before.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Three Actionable Insights

1. It’s ASML. Every advanced computer chip on Earth is made using their machines.

NVIDIA, Apple, Intel, Samsung. None of them can manufacture modern chips without ASML, which already tells you everything you need to know about how power works in the age of technology.

What makes this truly mind-bending is how their machines actually work. ASML fires microscopic droplets of molten tin, each thinner than a human hair, and then shoots a laser at every single droplet, vaporizing it into plasma that is hotter than the surface of the sun. This explosion releases extreme ultraviolet light, which is then guided through a series of impossibly precise mirrors and projected onto a stencil carrying the chip’s design. That design is printed onto a wafer of silicon coated in light-reactive chemicals, and this process repeats thousands of times, layer upon layer, until a functioning chip emerges.

The scale of precision is almost impossible to grasp. These patterns contain billions of transistors spaced only a few atoms apart, meaning the accuracy required is the equivalent of firing a laser from the moon and hitting a penny on Earth. In simple terms, modern computing is built by vaporizing molten tin to create invisible light that prints atomic-level patterns onto silicon.

This is what the future actually looks like. Quiet, invisible, hyper-precise, and completely redefining where power sits in the world.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Three Actionable Insights

1. And this is not just a motivational line. Neuroscience now confirms what ancient wisdom always hinted at. Your brain is shaped by who you spend time with.

Without you even realizing it, your brain is constantly comparing. It scans the people around you and silently evaluates your place among them. When someone close to you shows more discipline, more growth, or simply lives in a way you admire, your brain’s reward system lights up. Sometimes your pain circuits do too. That feeling of being left behind is not just emotional. It is neurological. And often, it is the signal that pushes you to evolve.

Then there is your mirror neuron system. This part of your brain activates when you watch someone do something meaningful. Whether it is starting a business, learning a language, or showing up consistently for a workout, your brain fires as if you were doing it yourself. This is why motivation feels contagious.

Even your values begin to shift. The things they care about start to feel more important to you. This is because your brain assigns more weight to what your environment prioritizes.

Your identity is affected too. The medial prefrontal cortex, which governs your sense of self, starts blending with the people you are closest to or aspire to be like.

And when you are in deep conversation with someone you admire, your brain activity begins to sync with theirs. When something genuinely interests us, we will read, study, practice, and explore it with remarkable energy and commitment. Learning, when it is driven by curiosity, feels alive and expansive. But there is something we are far less skilled at, and that is unlearning.

Unlearning is difficult because it is not about adding new information, it is about letting go of parts of who we think we are. It means noticing the patterns of thought, behavior, and emotional reaction that once helped us survive or succeed, but are now quietly keeping us stuck. Unlearning requires real awareness. Specifically, the ability to watch your own mind and nervous system in action, and to recognize that some of what you call “me” is really just old conditioning that never got updated.

This matters now more than ever because we are moving through a deep shift in what it means to be human in the first place. For a long time, our identity has been built around intelligence, analysis, and problem solving. Now A.I is doing much of this better, faster, and cheaper, which means that the old identity of “I am valuable because I am the one who figures things out” is starting to dissolve. The work of this next chapter is not just about learning new tools, it is also about releasing old selves.

Nature shows us how this works. Winter is not failure, it is the season where what no longer serves falls away so that something new can grow. We are in that winter right now. And you cannot step into spring while dragging your old identity behind you.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Three Actionable Insights

1. length="0" type="image/jpeg"/>

Hey

People often assume that transformation comes from insight, reflection, or talking things through over time. Yet again and again, something else quietly outperforms all of that. A single, meaningful travel experience. Not the holiday kind where you switch off, but the kind where your nervous system is exposed to unfamiliar rhythms, places, and versions of yourself you do not meet at home.

When you travel, the brain is forced out of its everyday patterns. Your usual identity softens. You are no longer defined by your role, your job title, or the expectations that quietly shape your decisions. In that absence, something important happens. You start to hear yourself again, not the version shaped by habit, but the one shaped by possibility.

Travel also introduces adventure. You get lost, you adapt, you figure things out. The body learns, often faster than the mind, that you are capable of handling uncertainty. That experience restores self-trust in a way no amount of thinking ever could. Confidence does not come from understanding courage, it comes from using it.

What makes travel especially powerful is how quickly insight integrates. Instead of weekly reflection or intellectual processing, the learning is embodied. It is anchored in movement, emotion, and lived experience. This is why decisions made after travel often feel irreversible. They are not logical conclusions. They are felt truths.

This is not an argument against therapy or reflection. It is a reminder that the future is often unlocked through experience, not explanation. Sometimes you do not need to understand yourself better. You need to meet yourself somewhere else.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Three Actionable Insights

1. quiet truth in the economy: the more human a service is, the more expensive it becomes. A haircut, a teacher’s attention, a doctor’s time. These don’t scale easily, and so their costs rise, not because they become better, but because they remain human.

This is what economist William Baumol observed decades ago: certain industries cannot benefit from productivity gains in the same way others can, and so they become more expensive over time. While technology made factories faster and software infinite, human-led work remained constrained, and that constraint became costly.

But something has shifted.

A.I is beginning to enter the very spaces that were once protected by this limitation. It is not just automating repetition, it is starting to participate in thinking, reasoning, even creativity. Areas that once felt immune are now becoming fluid, and the boundary between what is scalable and what is not is starting to dissolve.

And yet, this does not remove the human, it reframes it.

Because as A.I expands, it exposes something deeper, that not all parts of a role are equal. Some elements can be automated, others require judgment, awareness, and emotional intelligence. The future of work is no longer about the job itself, but about understanding which parts of what you do are uniquely yours.

This is where adaptability becomes your greatest advantage.

If you focus only on process, you will compete with machines. If you elevate your ability to interpret, connect, make decisions and take action, you begin to operate in a space that is not easily replicated.

The opportunity is not to resist this shift, but to reposition yourself within it.

Three Actionable Insights

1. Identify which parts of your work are process-driven and whichrequire judgment, then double down on the latter.

2. Use A.I to enhance your output, not replace your thinking. Theleverage comes from combining both.

3. Build adaptability as a core skill, because the roles that survive willbe the ones that evolve.

Until next week...keep future rising

Who Will Actually Win the A.I Race?

Future Rise Newsletter #55 | March 10th (2026)

John Sanei

We keep talking about the A.I race as if it will be decided by chips,
capital, or clever engineers. A
biologist named Andrea Salvi spent decades studying people who
rarely got sick and who seemed to age far more slowly than their peers
by almost every biological marker. He looked at everything: genetics,
diet, routines, lifestyle; and eventually noticed a surprisingly consistent
pattern. These people regularly spoke their thoughts and emotions out
loud. He called it the Internal Unloading Effect.

What he found is simple and profound. When emotions are not
expressed, they do not disappear, they lodge themselves in the body.
Studies show that people who suppress their emotions carry
significantly higher levels of inflammatory markers. Whereas those
who regularly vocalize what they are feeling show the opposite
pattern. The body seems to interpret the human voice as a signal that
a threat has been recognized and processed, which allows the immune
system to shift from defense into repair.

The neuroscience supports this. Speaking aloud activates the brain's
regulatory centers and quietens the amygdala, the brain's alarm
system. In one study, simply verbalizing inner states reduced cortisol
levels by more than twenty percent in just minutes.
In other words, some people are not just talking to themselves, they
are regulating their nervous systems, reducing inflammation, and
releasing stress before it has time to become illness.
Maybe the strangest habit in public is one of the healthiest in
private.

<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" less pursuit.
When in reality, the most spiritual thing you can ever do is
become the fittest, most loving, and most resourced version of yourself - not only for the outcomes themselves, but for who you
become along the way.
Being physically strong and healthy is not only about aesthetics or
achievement. It is about who you must be on the days you don't feel
like working out, the moments where discomfort shows up, and when
you choose discipline over emotion, plan over mood, and long-
term results over short-term relief.
This capacity to stay steady when things are hard, to follow through
when resistance is loud, is the same capacity that makes exceptional
leaders. These are people, like you and me, who don't crumble under
pressure, and who can make difficult decisions because they
understand what is at stake.
The same is true for love. Deep, meaningful relationships begin with
the willingness to love yourself fully, and this requires facing every
story, belief, and inherited narrative that tells you why you should
withhold that love. When you are closed-off to yourself, you are closed-
off to others. When you soften towards yourself, you expand your
capacity to meet others with presence, care, and honesty.
And then there is money, the point where resistance often speaks the
loudest. Money in the hands of good people does not corrupt, it
amplifies. Resources allow you to support others, provide scholarships,
help neighbors, and create stronger, more loving communities. Wanting
more does not make you less humble or less kind. Wanting less does
not make you more virtuous. It simply limits the reach of your impact.
Growth is spiritual because it expands who you are under
pressure and possibility.

Three Actionable Insights

1. Choose one moment of resistance each day and act in alignment
with your future self, not your current mood.
2. More discipline, self-love, and resources expand your capacity to
lead.
3. Your world improves through the version of you that you practice
daily.

Until next week...keep future rising

The Social Media Awakening

Future Rise Newsletter #37 | Oct 21st (2025)

John Sanei

Once upon a time, social media felt like a digital campfire. Pick
a lane, master a skill, and fit neatly into society's expectations. That
model made sense in a slower, more predictable world where roles
stayed stable for decades and identity was tied to what you did for a
living.
But that world is disappearing fast.
A specialist focuses on acquiring a skill to fit into society. A generalist
starts somewhere very different. A generalist begins with what they
want to create, the problem they want to solve, and the future they
want to live into. And then learns whatever is required to get there.
That might mean mastering a single skill for a period of time, but they
never confuse the skill with who they are.
The difference is subtle,
