quiet truth in the economy: the more human a service is, the more expensive it becomes. A haircut, a teacher’s attention, a doctor’s time. These don’t scale easily, and so their costs rise, not because they become better, but because they remain human.

This is what economist William Baumol observed decades ago: certain industries cannot benefit from productivity gains in the same way others can, and so they become more expensive over time. While technology made factories faster and software infinite, human-led work remained constrained, and that constraint became costly.

But something has shifted.

A.I is beginning to enter the very spaces that were once protected by this limitation. It is not just automating repetition, it is starting to participate in thinking, reasoning, even creativity. Areas that once felt immune are now becoming fluid, and the boundary between what is scalable and what is not is starting to dissolve.

And yet, this does not remove the human, it reframes it.

Because as A.I expands, it exposes something deeper, that not all parts of a role are equal. Some elements can be automated, others require judgment, awareness, and emotional intelligence. The future of work is no longer about the job itself, but about understanding which parts of what you do are uniquely yours.

This is where adaptability becomes your greatest advantage.

If you focus only on process, you will compete with machines. If you elevate your ability to interpret, connect, make decisions and take action, you begin to operate in a space that is not easily replicated.

The opportunity is not to resist this shift, but to reposition yourself within it.

Three Actionable Insights

1. Identify which parts of your work are process-driven and whichrequire judgment, then double down on the latter.

2. Use A.I to enhance your output, not replace your thinking. Theleverage comes from combining both.

3. Build adaptability as a core skill, because the roles that survive willbe the ones that evolve.

Until next week...keep future rising

Who Will Actually Win the A.I Race?

Future Rise Newsletter #55 | March 10th (2026)

John Sanei

We keep talking about the A.I race as if it will be decided by chips,
capital, or clever engineers. A
biologist named Andrea Salvi spent decades studying people who
rarely got sick and who seemed to age far more slowly than their peers
by almost every biological marker. He looked at everything: genetics,
diet, routines, lifestyle; and eventually noticed a surprisingly consistent
pattern. These people regularly spoke their thoughts and emotions out
loud. He called it the Internal Unloading Effect.

What he found is simple and profound. When emotions are not
expressed, they do not disappear, they lodge themselves in the body.
Studies show that people who suppress their emotions carry
significantly higher levels of inflammatory markers. Whereas those
who regularly vocalize what they are feeling show the opposite
pattern. The body seems to interpret the human voice as a signal that
a threat has been recognized and processed, which allows the immune
system to shift from defense into repair.

The neuroscience supports this. Speaking aloud activates the brain's
regulatory centers and quietens the amygdala, the brain's alarm
system. In one study, simply verbalizing inner states reduced cortisol
levels by more than twenty percent in just minutes.
In other words, some people are not just talking to themselves, they
are regulating their nervous systems, reducing inflammation, and
releasing stress before it has time to become illness.
Maybe the strangest habit in public is one of the healthiest in
private.

</line>

One of the biggest misunderstandings about spirituality is the
belief that it requires less of us: less ambition, less desire, less pursuit.
When in reality, the most spiritual thing you can ever do is
become the fittest, most loving, and most resourced version of yourself - not only for the outcomes themselves, but for who you
become along the way.
Being physically strong and healthy is not only about aesthetics or
achievement. It is about who you must be on the days you don't feel
like working out, the moments where discomfort shows up, and when
you choose discipline over emotion, plan over mood, and long-
term results over short-term relief.
This capacity to stay steady when things are hard, to follow through
when resistance is loud, is the same capacity that makes exceptional
leaders. These are people, like you and me, who don't crumble under
pressure, and who can make difficult decisions because they
understand what is at stake.
The same is true for love. Deep, meaningful relationships begin with
the willingness to love yourself fully, and this requires facing every
story, belief, and inherited narrative that tells you why you should
withhold that love. When you are closed-off to yourself, you are closed-
off to others. When you soften towards yourself, you expand your
capacity to meet others with presence, care, and honesty.
And then there is money, the point where resistance often speaks the
loudest. Money in the hands of good people does not corrupt, it
amplifies. Resources allow you to support others, provide scholarships,
help neighbors, and create stronger, more loving communities. Wanting
more does not make you less humble or less kind. Wanting less does
not make you more virtuous. It simply limits the reach of your impact.
Growth is spiritual because it expands who you are under
pressure and possibility.

Three Actionable Insights

1. Choose one moment of resistance each day and act in alignment
with your future self, not your current mood.
2. More discipline, self-love, and resources expand your capacity to
lead.
3. Your world improves through the version of you that you practice
daily.

Until next week...keep future rising

The Social Media Awakening

Future Rise Newsletter #37 | Oct 21st (2025)

John Sanei

Once upon a time, social media felt like a digital campfire. Instagram didn't slowly influence
photography, it quickly rewired how we document identity, memory,
and belonging.

Artificial Intelligence has now entered that same phase of
acceleration. What once felt experimental is beginning to integrate
directly into our daily decisions, our workflows, and ultimately our
thinking itself. A.I is not simply another tool we use, it's becoming an
extension of intelligence, placing collective human knowledge at our
fingertips in real time.

This can feel unsettling because unfamiliar technology always triggers
caution before it delivers value. Yet history shows us something
important. Every major technological leap first feels dangerous, then
useful, and eventually indispensable. The real opportunity is not to
debate whether A.I will shape the future, it already is, but to decide
how consciously we choose to engage with it.

If ideas already emerge from places we cannot fully explain, imagine
what happens when human intuition meets augmented intelligence.
The potential is not replacement, it's elevation. A.I is less about automation and more about expanding human
decision-making and creativity.
3. Pick
a lane, master a skill, and fit neatly into society's expectations. That
model made sense in a slower, more predictable world where roles
stayed stable for decades and identity was tied to what you did for a
living.
But that world is disappearing fast.
A specialist focuses on acquiring a skill to fit into society. A generalist
starts somewhere very different. A generalist begins with what they
want to create, the problem they want to solve, and the future they
want to live into. And then learns whatever is required to get there.
That might mean mastering a single skill for a period of time, but they
never confuse the skill with who they are.
The difference is subtle, And it can remix and reproduce these patterns at
extraordinary speed. This means that a large part of what we currently
call creative work, especially the pattern-based, style-driven part will
inevitably be done better, faster, and cheaper by A.I.
But this has happened before. When machines replaced human
labor in agriculture, we did not become less human, we became
something else entirely. If that shift had not happened, we would still all
mostly be farmers. In the same way, A.I is not here to shrink us,
it's here to catalyze us to evolve.
The deeper issue is that human creativity has probably never been
anywhere near its true potential. Science is increasingly showing that
what we experience as reality is only a tiny fraction of what actually
exists. And that most of reality is invisible to us and full of latent
possibility. If this is even partly true, then most of our creativity today is
happening in a very small room.
A.I is pushing us out of this limited room. It's taking over the
predictable, repeatable forms of creativity so that we are forced to
discover something deeper, more intuitive, and more expansive in
ourselves.
The real question isn't: "Will A.I replace us?"
It is: "Are we willing to evolve beyond the version of ourselves
that A.I will outperform?"

Actionable Insights

1. A.I will replace pattern-based creativity, but not human potential.

2. Every technological leap forces a new version of humanity to
emerge.
3. The future of creativity is not about doing more, it's about
synergizing our lived human experiences and emotions into ideas that
move people.

Until next week...keep future rising

The New Luxury Money Can't Buy

Future Rise Newsletter #48 | Jan 20th (2026)

John Sanei

I've been thinking a lot about what luxury is going to mean in
2026 and beyond. The more I look at culture, the more obvious it
becomes that we are entering a period of deep designer fatigue. Social
media has flattened exclusivity. Things that were once rare are now
everywhere. The Birkin bag is a perfect example. What was once a
symbol of scarcity now feels almost ordinary, whether it's real or a
knock-off hardly even matters anymore. and the ideas
bouncing around, one thing became impossible to ignore. The future
of work has quietly but completely changed.
For most of our lives, the formula was simple and comforting. You
became a person, you studied, you got a job, you joined a company,
and you earned money. It was linear, predictable, and for a long time it
worked. But that world is fading faster than most people realize.
A new pattern is emerging, and it looks very different. Today it's
about becoming a person, discovering and sharpening a unique skill,
building an audience around that skill, and then earning money through
the value you create. Not because you fit into a system, but because
you become a system. This shift changes everything.
• Your career is no longer something you climb, it's something you
build.
• Your security no longer comes from a job title, it comes from
relevance and adding value.
• Your leverage no longer comes from hierarchy, it comes from trust
and attention.
The most successful people in the next decade will not be the ones
with the most impressive CVs. They'll be the ones who can learn fast,
express themselves clearly, and create value for a specific group of
people who actually care.
We're moving from jobs to identities, from companies to
communities, and from permission to self-direction.

Actionable Insights

1. Stop asking where you fit in and start asking what you uniquely offer.
2. Build skills that compound and an audience that grows with you.
3. Think of your work as a living ecosystem, not a fixed role.

Until next week...keep future rising

Starting 2026 Strong in a Noisy World

Future Rise Newsletter #46 | Jan 6th (2026)

John Sanei

Happy New Year!
Every year arrives with a quiet promise and a loud demand. It promises
growth, change, expansion, and then immediately demands speed,
decisions, performance, and proof.
2026 will stretch us, surprise us, and we'll most likely outgrow old
versions of ourselves. But the real question is not how much we
can do, it is how centered we can remain while doing it.
Most people think clarity comes from thinking harder. In reality, the
moment you start spinning in your head, decision quality drops,
creativity narrows, and you begin repeating patterns that should have
expired years ago. You might be busy, even productive, but you are no
longer precise. You are reacting, not choosing.
You can hustle, build, scale, experiment, and dream as big as you like,
but without a calm nervous system and coherence between your brain
and your heart, true clarity never arrives. You do not access your best
thinking when you are rushed, compressed, or internally noisy. The signs
were dark, the forecourt was unlit, the prices were blank. His wife said
it was closed. But Rory knew it couldn't be, because he had once been
there on Christmas Day. So they pulled in anyway. Sure enough, the
place was open, only invisible from the road.
The funny part was that the staff member had simply forgotten
to turn the lights on. No one had noticed, no one cared. Yet in that
hour, the station probably lost thousands in fuel sales. Rory pointed out
the double standard. But failing to
turn the lights on, effectively losing hundreds of pounds per hour,
carried no consequence.
The lesson is sharp. Hold on to the version
of ourselves that feels familiar, or step into a new identity that asks
for space, clarity, and courage. After my 14th meditation retreat with
Dr Joe Dispenza in Nov, this landed with a force I couldn't ignore. Feng
Shui teaches that nothing new can arrive while the old still fills the
room. I realized the same is true for identity. Anything that is not part
of my future cannot travel with me.
When I returned home, jet lag woke me up at two in the morning. I
meditated, centered myself, and then spent five hours clearing my
house with sharp honesty. Every cupboard, every drawer, every
forgotten corner. I put 80% of my aftershaves into my recycling bin.
Many of them were brand new. I removed objects I did not love. I
stepped away from people and clients who belonged to an older
chapter. With every decision my energy shifted. The air felt
lighter. My mind felt clearer. I could feel the next version of me
taking shape.
The truth is simple. If you want a different experience in 2026, you
cannot bring the weight of 2025 with you. Leave behind anything
that does not belong in your new script. Create space for the
future you want to live into. This is the work.
Thank you for being with me through this year. We have new courses,
new meditations, new talks, a new book, and a new chapter for The
Expansive coming up next year. We'll share this with you right here.

Takeaways

1. A new identity needs space to grow.
2. Clearing your surroundings clears your mind.
3. Your 2026 story begins with what you leave behind in 2025.

Actionable Insights

1. Identify and write down your goals for the new year.
2. Take some time to reflect and list what has weighed you down this
year.

3. y2="14"></line>

Every time humanity faces a new wave of technology, the same story
unfolds. First comes resistance, then confusion, and eventually
adaptation. Yet within that cycle, something remarkable always rises
from the noise, a deeper expression of what it means to be human.
Right now, we are living through one of those waves. Artificial
Intelligence is reshaping the internet, filling it with words that sound
intelligent but lack depth, with art that looks beautiful but carries no
emotion, and with ideas that appear insightful but have no roots. The
result is a digital world overflowing with information yet starving for
authenticity. And as the noise grows louder, people are beginning to
crave what feels true again.
There are three main reasons the internet is becoming untrustworthy,
and together they are driving what I call the Analogue Renaissance,
a return to the real, the tactile, and the deeply human.
The first reason is that the way we add value to the world is evolving.
We once created through physical work. Then we entered the era of
intelligence, where our worth was measured by how much we knew or
how fast we could think. Now, with artificial intelligence able to
replicate knowledge faster than any human ever could, the next
frontier is not IQ but AQ, the Adaptability Quotient. AQ is the ability to
evolve emotionally, mentally, and creatively when faced with change.
When we develop this adaptability, we unlock something even deeper,
our Genius Quotient or GQ. GQ is not about being clever, it is about
being original, emotionally aware, and true to yourself. It's the creative
energy that makes your work unmistakably your own.
In a world where machines can copy almost anything, authenticity
becomes the highest currency. When your work carries the energy of
lived experience and your voice sounds unmistakably human, people
pay attention. The more artificial the world becomes, the more valuable
your humanity will be.
The second reason is that the internet is losing credibility because of
the rapid rise of synthetic influence. Soon, Artificial Intelligence will
produce entire personalities, influencers, and thought leaders who
never existed. Truth will blur until it becomes impossible to tell what's
real and what's tech-generated. This shift will push us to value direct human experiences again, in-person gatherings, live conversations,
and communities built on trust. The more artificial our screens become,
the more sacred human presence will feel.
The third reason is what economists call the zero marginal cost
society. As technology pushes the cost of digital creation closer to
zero, abundance floods the system. When anything can be replicated
endlessly, the unique becomes priceless. In art, design, and creativity,
this will spark a powerful reversal, a revival of the handmade, the
physical, and the imperfect. People will seek out art, music, writing,
and design that feels alive because it came from real human hands.
The digital world will remain useful for sharing ideas, but real
connection will happen in person, through texture, touch, and time.
The Analogue Renaissance is not a step backward; it's a return to
balance. As the digital world expands infinitely, we are rediscovering
the sacredness of the finite, the beauty of what cannot be duplicated,
scaled and mass-produced.

This Week's Actionable Insight:

"How will you contribute to and benefit from this new era of
the Analogue Renaissance? What product, service, or experience
will you create that helps people reconnect with touch, with trust, and
with truth?"
The future will not belong to what is most advanced, it will belong to
what is most authentic. The next evolution of progress is not only about
being digital, it's also about being deeply human.
Until next time...keep future rising

Money Is Not the Problem

Future Rise Newsletter #40 | Nov 11th (2025)

John Sanei

Money is one of the loudest mirrors we have. They've grown tiny living brains in a lab that can
actually learn. These organoids are clusters of around 100,000
human neurons grown from stem cells, each no bigger than a pea, yet
capable of astonishing feats.
In one study, researchers wired these brain cells to a computer running
the video game Pong. Within five minutes the cells figured out how to
move the paddle with no programming, no code, just trial, error, and
adaptation.
This is a new field called biocomputing where living brain tissue
performs the computing instead of silicon chips. The potential is
staggering. Your brain runs on about 20 watts which is less than a
light bulb while supercomputers need around 21 million watts to
approach the same capacity. Humans can learn a skill from just ten
examples while A.I needs millions.
The benefits of this development could be revolutionary. Energy
efficient computers that learn like humans, adapt in real time, and get
smarter without vast data centers.

Takeaways

1. Biocomputers could outperform A.I and supercomputers in efficiency
and learning speed.
2. The technology could drastically reduce energy demands for
advanced computing.
3. Ethical debates about consciousness in lab grown brains will become
unavoidable.

Actionable Insight

These tiny biocomputers run on just 20 watts which is less than a light
bulb. This is a powerful metaphor. The leaders who will thrive aren't
the ones who burn out chasing growth; they're the ones who use their
energy wisely. Calm. Focused. Intentional.

Until next time...keep future rising
